Got My Own Place

Hey all

Just a quickie to keep you all up-to-date on my situation here in Cairns.

Since my last email back in January I've been looking for my own place as I had to move out of where I was living before and after 4 weeks of searching and looking at a lot of crap apartments I found a nice little 1 bedroom apartment on Moody Street in a suburb called Manoora. It's cheap, clean and the balcony backs on to a creek so I'll have to keep an eye out for crocs!!! The good thing about this being cheap is that it'll allow me to save up for a big trip back to the UK at the end of the year so I can see you all and that you can all meet Ashleigh too!

Apart from that not much has happened here, the hockey season started a month ago and 3 games in we've lost 1, drawn 1 and won 1 so we're off to a good start. My groin is much better but I still sometimes feel it after a game but its nothing to worry about. However, I've been going to gym classes in particular body balance and military madness. Body Balance allows me to have a good stretch and work on my core strength as many of you know touching my toes has always been a problem for me and my balance well.... lets just not got there. The class is fun but painful, I take my hat off to some of the people in there that can bend and balance in all sorts of positions. I just hang at the back where no one can see me fall over or hear me fart when the Pilates bits are on!!! But yeah there has been some major stacks on my behalf and you can see the instructor trying to hold in her laughs as all the guys in the room struggle with the material. Military Madness on the other hand
is completely different, it's basically and hours circuit training with push-ups, dips, jumps, weights, punch bags, tackle bags etc and its conducted in a way that you would do it if you were in the military so as you can imagine it's pretty full and you want to throw up afterwards!!!

I'm playing ok at the hockey but I need to get fitter and faster. The first 3 games have been a bit of an eye opener for me, realise now that if I want to step up and make a representative team one year I have to improve on a few aspects of my game. It's a miracle I haven't been sent off yet, I do a lot of crap on the field that's not necessarily cheating but its not far from it, I suppose I should be grateful that I'm good at looking innocent he he!!!

Ashleigh is doing ok, she's just started back at uni and has been selected in the Cairns Premier League team which is great! So as you can imagine she's pretty busy, but now I work in the day it means that she can concentrate more on her studies!

Work is going well, I'm learning new things all the time and John is patient with me too which is good.

I suppose I should give Ashleigh's parents a mention as they have done heaps for me this past year (yes that's right I've been back a year already!) and I could never thank them enough for helping me out!

Michelle (Mrs Tim Evans) is very pregnant now so there'll be a little Tim running around soon, they are having a girl so I hope it looks more like Michelle than Tim hehehehehe! (I'm waiting for the reply email from him now for that comment!)

Anyways I'd better get back to it, I hope you are all well, I miss you all loads and can't wait to see you at the end of the year.

Take care and keep in touch.

Taggie
