| In 1987 I was asked by Chris Buck if I fancied watching a hockey match, unsure as I was an avid footballer I went along to watch North Notts 1st X1 Vs Boots played on grass. From the first moment I saw the GK Kit I knew that was the job or me. I had to wait 2 or 3 years before I could play men’s hockey in goal as we only had 3 teams. Once the 4th team started the captain, a fresh faced Barrie thicket (ex 1st X1 GK) took me under his wing and taught me all he knew. From there I have never looked back I eventually made the 1st X1 in 1998 and went on to captain the side from 2001 /02 to 05. | ||
