North notts 3rd team faced 2nd in the league Northampton Saints last Saturday.
Expecting yet another tough game Notts managed to keep the strong Saints side out for over 50 minutes of the game. However, with Notts more mature players tiring and the young legs of Saints in full stride eventually they broke the stalemate.
Unfortunately for Notts after the first goal came 2 more quick goals leaving the Home side on the wrong end of a 3 – 0 scoreline.
Notts never gave up the fight and managed to keep forcing opportunities until the end, but just couldn’t keep up the pace for the full 70 minutes.
Notts travel away next week to bottom of the league Coventry City and University, hoping to gain 3 points from that game and keep them out of the tight relegation battle.

Simon Hollingsworth was outstanding again, scoring four goals, with Pete Brown getting the other two. A great performance by Joseph Hayes, who was unlucky not to get on the score sheet going close on several occasions.
North Notts Ladies 3rd X1 – 1
University of Nottingham Ladies – 2
Saturday saw Notts Ladies 3rd XI play in a rearranged fixture at Notts University.
Play started of well for Notts with them seeing the majority of possession, but a moments lack of concentration saw the Uni side score past Notts young keeper Charley Toomer. With some fantastic saves from youngster, Notts just couldn’t keep the Uni side from scoring again, leaving the score 2-0 at half time.
After the half time break and a motivating team talk, Notts came back hard, Jenna Hanson finding the back of the University net.
Notts heads were now high, hoping bring the scores level but just couldnt get past the Uni’s keeper.
